RoHS Compliance

The European Union (E.U.) recently passed into law the Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive, which will ban the use of the following, in electronic products sold in Europe beginning July 1, 2006:

  • Four metals - lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium, and

  • Two flame retardants - polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)

Other governments, including China and Japan, are enacting similar legislation and in the United States, California is in the process of adopting similar requirements.

Sagamore Technologies is fully committed to complying with the requirements of all applicable legislation and regulations, including RoHS in our manufacturing processes. We have conducted a supply chain assessment to assure compliance with these new environmental standards. As such, all Suppliers have been required to complete material disclosure statements.

To further demonstrate our commitment to assisting our valued clients to comply with the EU directives, EHF have recently expanded our facilities to include dedicated RoHS compliant Chemfilming capabilities.
